The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it is working in close collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to restore power supply to several parts of the Greater Accra Region following a severe rainstorm on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The heavy rainfall, which caused significant flooding across various communities, led to disruptions in electricity supply and damage to portions of ECG's power distribution network.

In a statement issued on May 19, 2025, ECG indicated that NADMO had requested the temporary isolation of electricity supply in a number of flood-affected areas for safety reasons.

The areas affected include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kissieman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction and Melcom, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trasacco 3rd Gate, Legon Hill, Santoe, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG Office, and Madina Islamic University. "ECG is awaiting clearance and further directives from NADMO before power can be safely restored to these locations," the statement said.
