Lakeside Estate has dismissed reports suggesting that its entire residential enclave was severely flooded during the downpour that hit Accra on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
In a press release issued on Monday, May 19, the estate's management clarified that the flooding was confined to a specific section of the community and not the entire estate as reported.
According to the statement, the floodwaters were primarily concentrated around the bridge connecting Community Five and Community Six, where a nearby stream overflowed its banks.
The resultant flooding, management said, affected parts of the Madina Institute of Technology and adjoining residential homes situated near the university bridge. "It was actually the bridge connecting Community Five and Community Six that overflowed due to the adjacent stream bursting its banks.
