Ibrahim Adjei, former Assistant Secretary at the Office of former President Nana Akufo-Addo, has thrown his support behind the directive by the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association to reduce the prices of spare parts in response to the appreciation of the Ghana cedi.
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Monday, May 19, he welcomed the move and encouraged individual dealers to take full advantage of digital platforms to communicate their new, reduced prices to consumers. "It is a welcome call, but it is for the individuals at Abossey Okai to take heed.
Those who are smart enough to lower their prices and communicate it will benefit." He urged the spare parts dealers to use social media and digital tools to market their prices, share their locations, and make it easier for consumers to find and buy from them. "What I want the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers to do now is go to the social media space and say, 'I am selling this part at this price, here is my location.' Tag your location, so people can access you.
If I trust you, I can send an Okada to pick it up and just mobile money you the payment," he explained.
