Two Ghanaian women who were kidnapped and held in Nigeria have been reunited with their families following a successful rescue operation coordinated by Ghana's National Security.
The victims, 48-year-old Anastasia Baidoo and 38-year-old Evelyn Serwaa Konadu, returned home after being rescued on May 1, 2025, in a cross-border operation led by National Security Coordinator, DCOP Osman Abdul-Razak.
The women were reportedly lured to Nigeria through a romance scam and later abducted by a syndicate that demanded ransom from their families.
Their ordeal gained public attention after videos of them in distress circulated on social media.
