The Bui Power Authority (BPA) has begun disbursing over 1.5 million Ghana cedis in compensation to individuals affected by the construction of a 3.95-kilometre transmission corridor for its renewable energy project at Galgu, a community in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

The transmission line, running along the Yendi-Galgu trunk road, is designed to link the Galgu project site to the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) substation in Yendi.

The 30-meter-wide corridor required the acquisition of land, impacting crops, buildings, and bare land.

In line with its commitment to responsible and inclusive development, the BPA conducted a comprehensive asset inspection and valuation exercise in September 2024.
