Correspondence from the Eastern Region A former assemblyman, Emmanuel Kwesi Larweh, has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region following a Special General Assembly Meeting held in Asesewa.

Larweh secured 38 valid votes out of the 48 votes cast, representing 79% endorsement by the Assembly Members, surpassing the two-thirds majority required under Section 20 of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

The election was conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC).

In his acceptance speech, the new Assembly Chief expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the appointment and assured his constituents of his utmost commitment to implementing the president's vision towards ensuring that the reset agenda succeeds.
