Member of Parliament for Nalerigu/Gambaga, Nurudeen Mohammed Mumuni, has clarified that the Minority's recent petition for investigations into the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, is not a personal attack or politically motivated.

This follows the Minority caucus's call for a full-scale investigation into the conduct of the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, over what they describe as a questionable foreign currency transaction.

In formal petitions submitted to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the opposition MPs are demanding an independent probe into Sammy Gyamfi's alleged involvement in unauthorized foreign exchange dealings and the circulation of foreign currency, which they claim may violate the Foreign Exchange Act and the Currency Act.

In an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom on Wednesday, May 15, he stressed that the Minority's actions are rooted in a commitment to transparency and accountability, not political vendetta.
