The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed strong confidence in his bid to become the party's National Chairman.
Speaking on his Wontumi Radio on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Wontumi stated that he would not contest the position if he were not certain of victory, claiming that the people and regions have already decided in his favour. "I know that the people have made their decision already, the people, the regions, and others have made their decisions already in terms of who will win as the general secretary.
As I sit here, if I claim that I don't know, I would be lying.
If I am not confident that the people have chosen me as the national chairman, I won't contest.
