Former NDC youth leader Edem Agbana has called out what he describes as a deliberate misrepresentation of President Mahama's action regarding the Sammy Gyamfi dollar gift saga. "There is a difference between caution, clearance, and pardon.
And what President Mahama gave was a caution-not a pardon and certainly not clearance," Agbana explained during a panel discussion on Good Morning Ghana monitored by MyNewsGH.
He pointed out that media misreporting has fueled confusion about the disciplinary step taken.
According to Agbana, caution is a recognized form of sanction for minor misconduct in many jurisdictions, including Ghana. "Even in schools and institutions, caution is a formal warning," he noted, emphasizing that Gyamfi's caution reflected the high standards President Mahama expects from his appointees.
