Dr.
Joshua Jebuntie Zaato, a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana's(UG) Political Science Department, has dismissed the ongoing probe into suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo as a politically motivated charade, suggesting it is part of a larger scheme to target the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to him, the committee's work is merely a formality in what he describes as a "carefully calculated plan" to achieve a political outcome under the guise of a legal process.
His comments come as the five-member committee, chaired by Supreme Court Justice, Gabriel Scott Pwamang, begins hearings into the petitions that led to the suspension of Chief Justice Torkonoo.
