The five-member committee set up by President John Dramani Mahama to investigate petitions against the suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkonoo, is scheduled to begin its hearings today, Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Chaired by Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, the committee was constituted in accordance with Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution, following consultation with the Council of State.
This development follows the establishment of a prima facie case against the Chief Justice.
However, the Member of Parliament for Effia, Isaac Boamah-Nyarko, has raised concerns over the timing of the suspension.
