Nana Ama Gyankoma Asirifi, the Bono Regional Health Promotion Officer, has appealed to the media to intensify public sensitisation on environmental cleanliness to stem the outbreak of cholera, as the rains set in.
She commended the Sunyani Municipal Assembly for the clean-up exercise it conducted in the Municipality over the weekend, urging the sustenance of the exercise in all the 12 politically administrative districts and municipalities in the region.
Mrs Asirifi made the appeal when speaking at a media engagement in Sunyani, asking the media to provide airtime for the health directorate to sensitise the people to help prevent disease outbreaks.
She said that as the rains set in, it behoved the people to always keep the environment and their surroundings always clean and avoid littering around and dumping plastic and other solid waste to choke gutters.
