The leadership of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), and the Food and Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG) are currently in a closed-door meeting with the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, to address concerns over price regulation and other pressing challenges confronting the trading and manufacturing sectors.
The high-level meeting comes at a time when Ghana's macroeconomic indicators show signs of recovery - with the Ghanaian Cedi appreciating modestly against major foreign currencies and inflation rates showing a steady decline.
However, the impact of these improvements is yet to be felt in the daily lives of Ghanaians, as prices of goods and services remain stubbornly high.
Traders and industry players have expressed frustration over the disconnect between the macroeconomic gains and realities at the marketplace.
