Former Director of the Ghana School of Law, Kwaku Ansa-Asare, has called for a possible review of the 1992 Constitution, following concerns over a simultaneous absence of Ghana's top three government officials.
His comments come after the Minority in Parliament, on Tuesday, May 13, raised alarms over what they described as a dangerous power vacuum.
The caucus argued that the concurrent absence of the President, Vice President, and Speaker of Parliament constitutes a violation of Article 60 of the 1992 Constitution.
The article mandates that when both the President and Vice President are unavailable, the Speaker of Parliament must be sworn in as Acting President.
