The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) has distanced itself from the ongoing strike action by workers of the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL).
In a public notice signed by Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr.
Frederick Appoh, the GRDA emphasised the distinct legal mandates of the two entities, highlighting that while the GRDA oversees railway infrastructure development, the GRCL is responsible for railway service operations. "The GRDA remains fully operational and has not initiated or endorsed any form of public demonstration on any issue," the statement read.
The authority reassured the public that its activities, particularly the imminent operationalisation of the newly constructed 97-kilometre Tema-Mpakadan Railway Line, remain unaffected.
