Samuel Atta Akyea, legal counsel for former National Signals Bureau boss, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, has condemned the leak of a letter addressed to the National Security Coordinator, in which his client denied allegations of financial misconduct.
The letter, which has been circulating in the public domain, details Adu-Boahene's response to claims that he misappropriated GH¢49.1 million.
In it, he provides a breakdown of the disbursements, stating that the funds were used for various operational purposes - including payments to Members of Parliament, an opposition political party, and a special aide to then-President John Mahama for the purchase of vehicles.
According to the letter, the money in question was part of transactions between two National Security-created accounts intended to address urgent operational demands.
