Abdulai Mahmud has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Bole District Assembly in the Savannah Region, following a successful vote that saw him secure a commanding 87 percent of the total valid votes cast.
The confirmation exercise took place under tight security on May 12, 2025, with personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Immigration Service deployed to the area a day before the event.
The move was seen as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and order, especially following recent opposition to Mahmud's nomination.
According to metrotvonline.com report, Mahmud polled 34 'Yes' votes and 4 'No' votes out of 39 total votes cast by assembly members.
