The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has taken to social media in defence of the acting Ghana Gold Board CEO, Sammy Gyamfi, following growing public backlash over a controversial dollar gift to self-styled evangelist and former fetish priestess, Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
The incident, captured in a viral video, shows Mr Gyamfi handing over dollar notes to Nana Agradaa, a gesture that has sparked widespread public criticism and raised concerns about the conduct of public officeholders. The footage has sparked a firestorm on social media, with critics questioning the appropriateness of such a gesture, particularly under the current economic climate.
Mr Gyamfi has since apologised for the incident.
Nonetheless, he has been summoned by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, over the matter.
