The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has firmly rejected calls for a re-run of the parliamentary election in the Ablekuma North constituency, insisting that its candidate, Akua Afriyie, emerged victorious.
Speaking on Channel One TV on Saturday, May 10, 2025, the NPP's Greater Accra Regional Secretary, Daniel Parker Odarlai, stressed that the party has verified the results and found no justification for a re-run. "As I speak, I know we have compared results, and we are left with only three polling stations," Odarlai said.
He added: "It is not the case that the NDC was left out.
There were even instances where the NDC presented photocopies of pink sheets - some of which were unclear - but we still compared them with ours and agreed." He emphasised that the NPP does not support any calls for a repeat of the election, insisting that Akua Afriyie won with a margin of 349 votes. "We don't agree to a re-run.
