The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, became emotional during an interview with Ghanaian broadcaster Kafui Dey as he recalled the heartbreaking loss of his only sister.
Afenyo-Markin, who shared memories of his early years, revealed that his sister fell ill while they were living with their grandmother, who was responsible for their care.
He struggled to contain his emotions as he recounted the painful experience. "Eventually, my sister became unwell, and her condition deteriorated, but Grandma refused to take her to the hospital, she kept praying instead.
Then, one day, my sister could no longer walk; she was crawling.
