The Founder of the All Peoples Congress (APC), , has given a prediction of the things that would transpire in Ghana should either the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), , that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), , or himself win the pending 2024 polls.
Speaking in an interview on GhanaWeb's Election Desk programme, asserted that if former President wins the election, the current hardship Ghanaians are going through would even become worse throughout his four-year reign.
He explained that Mahama would not be able to revive Ghana's economy because there would not be the enthusiasm needed to rally behind him to transform the country. "Number one, former President Mahama has been president before.
The whole world has seen him right now.
The economy is so bad that if he inherits the economy, it will be very difficult for him to change this economy in four years.
So, if it doesn't take time, the situation of this economy will make him fail, and it will make him fail.
It will be difficult for him to regenerate this economy.
It's going to be very difficult. "I tell you, whether he hears or not, because of the economy now, there's nothing about the country that is good to inherit as a former president.
Because as a former president, it's no news to any Ghanaian saying President Mahama is president again; it will not bring any anxiety, any joy, any happiness, or any investors coming from all angles to say, Oh, President Mahama is president; let's go and support him." For the flagbearer of the NPP, Ayariga said that if Vice President Dr Bawumia wins the December polls, Ghana would be set for outright destruction.
He made the point that a Bawumia presidency would be a continuation of the Akufo-Addo government. "Bawumia being president is going to be disastrous, huge more problems.
I mean, we're already in the ditch.
It's just like a rat in the hole.
What do you think is going to keep digging?
Because the corruption is high.
If they did not respect President Akufo-Addo to stop corruption, who is Bawumia?
Bawumia being president is not going to bring new things to Ghana.
No new investment is coming.
It's just going to be muddy. "If there's something that Bawumia can do to show that he's going to be, he'll be a better player.
He would have been doing it now, but he says he's vice president," Ayariga said.
He rubbished assertions that Bawumia is only vice president and could not have done much in the current administration, saying, "When you are in the house, the wife, if the house is good, it is between the man and the wife.
When the children perform, it's not the husband alone who makes the kids perform.
The wife has a role to play in the raising of the children.
The husband has a role to play in making sure that everybody is satisfied.
This is the role of the two." He added, "So one cannot blame the other one if the kids are not in perfect condition.
So Bawumia cannot run away from it.
Bawumia would take glory in digitalisation and say, He did this, he did that, he did this.
He's going around telling people here that.
But he's not taking glory in the distractions of failure in the destruction of this country." The founder of the APC said that the only way Ghana can get out of the current difficulties and be transformed is if he is elected into office. "If wins, the country will transform and change and blessings and new leadership styles, and the economy will grow and boom regions."
