Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia 2024 campaign, has strongly criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government over its handling of No-Academic-fee intervention, questioning whether the administration has truly fulfilled its promise of making tertiary education stress-free.
Speaking on the matter on Channel One TV's Citiuation Room on Thursday May 8, Aboagye challenged the government's assertion that it had met its commitment simply because it had launched the initiative days ago.
He emphasised that the government had itself pledged to cover first-year students' fees for the current academic year, even before its official swearing-in on January 7.
Aboagye referenced statements made by the Minister of Education during his vetting process, where the minister assured that payments would be made to first-year students who had already enrolled.
