Police in Kumasi have launched an investigation into the tragic death of a six-year-old girl, identified as Lidaya, whose body was discovered in a parked vehicle at Suame Market on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, days after she was reported missing.
According to the girl's father, Mahmud, Lidaya was last seen around the market but could not be found when her mother returned from the mosque.
Despite an extensive search, including checks on vehicles at a nearby fitting shop, the girl remained missing until traders detected a foul smell emanating from a parked vehicle, leading to the discovery of her lifeless body.
Speaking to local media, Mahmud expressed his grief and suspicion of foul play, stating, "The mother went to the mosque and came back, but our daughter was nowhere to be found.
