The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the permanent closure of its Premium Registration Center located at its Head Office at Shiashie, in Accra.
In a press release dated May 7, 2025, the public is advised to access Ghana Card registration services through its online appointment portal: http://register.nia.gov.gh. "Kindly be informed that effective Monday, 5th May 2025 applicants who wish to access any of our premium services (first-time registration, card replacement or personal information update) at the following premium centres must register and book appointment online via register.nia.gov.gh," the statement said.
Following the closure, individuals seeking to register for the Ghana Card are directed to two designated Premium Centers in Accra: • Cal Bank Headquarters, Ridge (Digital Address: GA-052-4957) • Accra Regional Coordinating Council, Legon City Campus The NIA also outlined a seven-step process for the new registration procedure, aimed at improving convenience and reducing long queues: 1.
