The Minority in Parliament has slammed the Mahama-led administration over the worsening power crisis, warning that the country is heading into a "darker and deadlier" phase of dumsor under the current NDC government.

Addressing a press conference as a reaction to John Dramani Mahama's 120-Day Social Contract, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin expressed deep concern over the nationwide impact of the ongoing power outages, which he said were crippling businesses and threatening lives.

Afenyo-Markin criticised the government's response to the crisis, accusing government of offering excuses rather than solutions. "What we are seeing today is not intermittent disruption; it is a national emergency, yet the Mahama administration continues to offer excuses instead of resolving the problems.
