The Minority in Parliament has lashed out at President John Dramani Mahama's administration for what it describes as a failure to deliver on its flagship 24-hour economy promise, accusing the government of relying on rhetoric instead of results.
Addressing the media in Parliament on Thursday, May 8, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin criticised the government for sidelining the 24-hour economy agenda in its first major economic policy document - the 2025 Budget - and questioned the sincerity of its commitment. "When Dr Forson appeared before the House with a budget statement, no mention was made of the 24-hour economy - their own famous flagship programme," Afenyo-Markin said.
He added: "What Dr.
Forson promised us was that, 'Oh, the 24-hour economy is being considered.
