Elvis Darko, editor of Newscenta, has criticised claims by President John Dramani Mahama that his administration has fulfilled its promises within the first 120 days in office, stating that the initiatives rolled out so far have not addressed even five per cent of Ghana's national problems.
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Thursday, May 8, Darko made it clear that while the initiatives outlined by the government may be commendable, they do not amount to the fulfillment of campaign promises. "Everybody in Ghana will admit that the 120-day contracts that we are happy about have not solved even 5% of our national problems, but we are all anxious to solve our problems.
So you start the processes of doing things, it doesn't mean that you are done. "This is a normal thing that any government voted into power will do to tell the public that what I promised, I have started it.
So, for me, when we categorise it as having been fulfilled, I have a challenge with that.
