Kwabena Adu-Boahene, a former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) who is currently facing charges of stealing alongside three others-including his wife-has sent a confidential memo to the National Security Coordinator detailing how portions of the allegedly misappropriated funds were spent on national security operations.

The memo, dated May 5, 2025, was transmitted from Adu-Boahene's cell at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) through his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea.

In it, the former security chief stated that, given the circumstances of his case, he felt compelled to alert the National Security Coordinator that he may have to disclose sensitive details relating to "special operations, activities, and funding" connected to national security.

Attached to the memo was a table summarizing expenditures on special operations.
