Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has expressed surprise at the Supreme Court's decision to indefinitely adjourn its ruling on a case seeking to restrain President John Dramani Mahama from removing the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr.
George Akuffo Dampare, along with other heads of security agencies.
The case, filed by IMANI Ghana and Security Analyst Professor Kwesi Aning, sought an interlocutory injunction to stop the President from replacing security service heads until the court delivers a final ruling.
At the last hearing on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a five-member panel ruled that the request for an injunction does not prevent the President from performing his public and administrative duties.
