Lawyer Enoch Teye Sewornu, chairman of the (NDC) in the Sege Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, has urged the NDC's flagbearer, , to prioritize infrastructure development in the constituency if elected to lead Ghana after the 2024 general election.
The chairman appealed to the presidential candidate on August 27, 2024, when he met the party's constituency supporters in Bonikope, a suburb of Sege in the Ada West District, during a 24-hour economy campaign trip in the region.
According to the chairman, the Sege Constituency lacks a major road network that will enhance the economic activities of residents under past presidents in the Fourth Republic. "It is a fact that in this Fourth Republic, the Sege Constituency has not seen any major development in terms of road network, so we are pleading with you that in 2025, when you assume the role as president of the Republic of Ghana, consider our road challenge on road network," he said.
He added that the constituency is a thriving economic hub, with commercial farmers and fishermen transporting agricultural goods to markets nearby; however, the depleted road network makes their work challenging.
Speaking about the NDC's 24-hour economy policy, he stated that the constituency executives and party members have accepted the presidential candidate's campaign message and will expedite their campaign strategies to ensure that the party wins both the presidential and parliamentary contests.
He clarified that the 24-hour economy, which the president would implement after winning the 2024 general election, will curb graduate unemployment among the frightened youth and lengthen the time of services provided by government agencies.
Lawyer Enoch Teye Sewornu further stated that the constituency executives are dedicated to ensuring that the presidential candidate, , and the parliamentary candidate, Daniel Keshi Bessy (DKB), received 90% and 70% of the votes, respectively, in the 2024 general election. "The assurance we are making is that our president, , is winning by ninety percent of the votes in the Sege Constituency.
We are also making sure that the parliamentary candidate, Daniel Keshi Bessy (DKB), is winning by seventy percent," he said.
continued his campaign tour to Ada Constituency, where he met with party members and the Ada Traditional Council Paramountcy.
In his address to the traditional authority, he asked for their support in ensuring that Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah, Member of Parliament for Ada Constituency, and Daniel Keshi Bessy, parliamentary candidate for Sege Constituency, win the election. "I am contesting a presidential election, and the two are Ada and Sege Constituency candidates.
I am handing them over to you so that you can hand them to the people of Ada to bring them to parliament so that we work together to ensure we achieve the development and prosperity we desire for Ada," he said.
