A senior lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Dr Jabril Mohammed, has emphasised the importance of maintaining a constant flow of water in hospital washrooms to promote proper hygiene and reduce the risk of infections.

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, and monitored by GhanaWeb on May 7, 2025, he said that without reliable access to water, patients risk contracting additional infections during their hospital visits. "Hospitals must ensure there is always running water in their washrooms to support good hygiene.

If this is not done, people may visit the hospital to be cured of one illness but end up returning home with more infections," he stated.

According to Dr Mohammed, the presence of clean, running water in hospital facilities is essential to preventing the spread of diseases and ensuring the safety and recovery of patients.
