Ibrahim Kofi Sessah, a technician with the Local Government Service, has been granted bail by the Financial and Economic Division of the Accra High Court after pleading not guilty to charges of financial misconduct linked to the sale of job appointments in the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Sessah was slapped with three charges by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), including using public office for profit and offering bribes to influence a public officer.
His bail was set at GHS 6.5 million, with two sureties required to justify the amount with landed property located in the Greater Accra Region.
Prosecutors allege that between January 2022 and December 2023, Sessah conspired with Anthony Gyasi, an IT Officer at the GES Head Office who is currently at large, to illegally sell appointment letters to aspiring teachers.
