Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has expressed disappointment over the composition of the judicial panel that heard the case seeking to halt the removal process of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

This follows the Supreme Court's decision to dismiss an application by Assafuah seeking to halt the ongoing process to remove Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and revoke her suspension.

In an exclusive interview on Channel One Newsroom, Assafuah, who is also the plaintiff in the case, acknowledged that the Acting Chief Justice's inclusion in the hearing was constitutional He, however, opined that it would have been better for Justice Baffoe-Bonnie to recuse himself from the hearing due to potential bias According to Assafuah, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie would have by such an act upheld fairness and justice.

He emphasised the importance of justice not only being done but also being seen to be done. "It is going to be disingenuous on my part to say that the Chief Justice cannot sit on the matter.
