Appointees of the Mahama administration have been urged to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in their conduct and decision-making, according to the newly released Code of Conduct for government officials.
Issued on Tuesday, May 6, the Code of Conduct forms part of the government's broader effort to promote professionalism, civility, and ethical governance in public service.
The document advises appointees to act in ways that preserve and enhance public trust in the integrity, impartiality, and objectivity of government institutions.
It further instructs officials to prioritise the public interest over personal or political gain. "Uphold the highest standards of integrity, truthfulness and transparency in all dealings and decision making to preserve and enhance public confidence and trust in the integrity, objectivity and impartiality of Government," the Code of Conduct stipulates.
