The Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong, has called for stronger cooperation with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), including prompt reporting of fires, respect for emergency personnel, and collective vigilance to ensure public safety.
In a press release dated May 4, 2025, Ag CFO Daniella expressed gratitude and solidarity to firefighters across the country, lauding their courage, professionalism, and sacrifices. "Your dedication, bravery, and sacrifices in protecting lives, property, and the environment deserve the highest commendation," she indicated.
Although International Firefighters' Day is globally observed on May 4, Ghana marked the occasion with a national celebration on May 5, 2025, culminating a week-long series of events to honour the nation's fire service personnel.
She used the occasion to reflect on the lives and legacies of fallen colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. "Let us also use this occasion to reflect on the lives and legacies of our fallen colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty," she added.
