President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Elizabeth Ama Yankah as the new Deputy National Security Coordinator, as part of efforts to enhance leadership within Ghana's national security framework.

The appointment is seen as a strategic move by the Mahama administration to inject fresh expertise into the country's security architecture and strengthen coordination across intelligence and operational agencies.

Yankah brings with her a background in finance, having previously served in a senior role at one of Ghana's leading local banks.

Her transition into national security is expected to bring a unique blend of strategic thinking and organisational acumen to the role.
