The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disclosed that the ongoing computerized school selection placement system is free, cautioning students and parents against paying money to anyone.
This follows reports of some teachers charging students GH₵30 for the process.
According to Henry Osei Boateng, Ashanti Regional PRO for GES, all costs have been covered by the government.
He emphasized that students will select 11 schools and indicate their preferred courses.
Osei Boateng urged parents and students to be vigilant and follow the process carefully.
He assured them that the GES is committed to a smooth and transparent placement process.
He reiterated that no one should pay money for the process, and advised parents and students to report any instances of extortion to the authorities.
