President John Dramani Mahama has announced disciplinary action against appointees who failed to meet the asset declaration deadline he set earlier this year.

Those affected will forfeit three months of their salary, which will be donated to the Ghana Medical Trust (MahamaCares) Fund .

Speaking at the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on Monday May 5, the President recalled that on February 18, 2025, he gave a clear directive for all newly appointed or nominated officials to declare their assets by March 31, 2025. "On 18th of February 2025, I set a deadline of 31st March for all appointees who are taking office or being nominated at the time to declare assets.

An update provided by the Auditor General to my office indicates that some of you failed to meet that deadline," Mahama stated.
