In a viral video on social media, some protestors of the #SaveTheJudiciaryDemo appear to be forcing their way into the premises of the Supreme Court compound.
The video shared on X by UTV on May, 5, 2025, showed the protestors clad in red and black, chanting and attempting to enter the Supreme Court premises.
The protestors had arrived to formally tender in their petition seeking to reverse the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and the impending removal process.
The ongoing demonstration by a coalition of political parties, led by the (NPP), has argued that the suspension of the CJ is politically-motivated and an attack on judicial independence, following the controversial suspension of Gertrude Torkornoo.
