Private legal practitioner and Law lecturer, Justice Abdulai, has called for the establishment of a more robust, transparent, and democratic structure for the removal of the Chief Justice and other Article 71 public office holders.
His call comes in the wake of growing national controversy following the suspension of Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo by President John Dramani Mahama.
The President, on Tuesday, April 22, suspended the Chief Justice after a prima facie case was established based on three separate petitions seeking her removal.
The decision was made under Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution, after consultation with the Council of State.
