A Circuit Court in Sunyani has sentenced a 69-year-old druggist to 17 years in prison for selling expired drugs, in violation of the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851).
In addition to the custodial sentence, the court, presided over by Mr.
Sylvester Nii Okai Ablorh, imposed a fine of GH¢120,000 on the convict, Nana Agyemang Badu, who operated an over-the-counter drug store at Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality.
Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional two-year prison term.
