Mobile Money Limited is intensifying efforts to tackle fraud across its platform, with the company now blocking more than 400,000 scam text messages every day.
The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Godwin Tamakloe, disclosed this on Channel One TV on Friday, May 2.
He revealed that the company has implemented advanced security filters capable of detecting and intercepting suspicious messages before they reach customers. "With text messages, we have systems with preset rules that block SMS targeting customers," Tamakloe said. "These scam messages often contain certain trigger words, and once detected, they are stopped before delivery." He explained that scammers typically operate through SMS, malicious links, or fraudulent calls.
By focusing on these channels, the company's systems can block hundreds of thousands of attempted scams daily.
