Waste management giant Zoomlion Ghana Limited is facing renewed scrutiny over its proposed wage structure for sanitation workers under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
According to investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, Zoomlion's pending proposal before the YEA allocates GHS1,308 per sweeper, with GHS888 retained by the company and only GHS420 designated for the workers.
In a statement released by Zoomlion, the company acknowledged that the proposal is still under discussion.
However, Awuni's investigation revealed that past proposals from Zoomlion have consistently been accepted without modification, raising concerns about the fairness of the arrangement.
