The Centre for Employment of Persons with Disabilities (CEPD) and the Ghana Chamber for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities (GCED) have reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for healthy working environments and inclusive employment policies, particularly for marginalised groups, especially persons with disabilities, to enable them to thrive effectively.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in many workplaces, the organisations emphasised their dedication to ensuring that these individuals enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
They noted that they are working tirelessly to transform the aspirations of such marginalised groups into reality, rather than leaving them as unfulfilled dreams.
This was stated in a message issued on May 1, 2025, to mark International Workers' Day. "As we mark this day, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for inclusive employment policies, equitable opportunities, and supportive environments where persons with disabilities can thrive. "We also acknowledge the ongoing challenges faced by workers with disabilities and pledge to continue working toward a future where dignity, equal rights, and full participation in the world of work are not just aspirations, but reality," the statement read.
