Award-winning Ghanaian Gospel singer Celestine Donkor and her husband, Kofi Donkor, have pledged to sponsor the education of two children of the late DJ Awana, a respected figure in Ghana's music and radio industry. The couple made this heartfelt announcement during the one-week celebration of DJ Awana's passing, held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Tema Community 2.
The gesture, they explained, is their way of honouring the memory of the late DJ who, they said, was instrumental in supporting their music journey.The educational support will cater to two of DJ Awana's children-one currently in Junior High School and the other at the Senior High School level.
DJ Awana, who passed away on April 6, 2025, after a short illness, was widely admired for his unique style, calm persona, and technical excellence on the turntables.
Despite being known for keeping a low profile, he earned the respect of industry players and fans alike with his quiet brilliance and consistency in the field.
