The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged passport applicants who started the application under the old biometric system to complete all such pending applications within 90 days.
In a statement dated Wednesday, April 30, the ministry announced that it is working expeditiously to ensure a seamless transition from the old biometric system to the new chip-embedded passport.
The ministry underscored that some 30,000 old applicants remain on the old system, out of which 7,900 persons have incomplete applications despite already settling their bills.
The ministry assured applicants who have already paid but have their passport process incomplete that they will not be charged again to complete the pending application.
