President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Chief Executives for all 33 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Eastern Region.
This is part of his broader effort to fill key local government positions, with 216 MMDCEs named nationwide so far.
The nominations, announced by the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, are subject to approval by a two-thirds majority in their respective assemblies.
They are made under Article 243(1) of the Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).
