A chaotic scene unfolded during a New Patriotic Party (NPP) "Thank You" tour event in the Ashanti Region, leaving a student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) hospitalised with multiple stab wounds.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 29, at the Bantama Pentecost Church, where the event was being held.
The injured student, a member of Unity Hall's Jama Group, had been engaged by the team of Kennedy Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, to energise the gathering.
Reports say that tensions escalated when a wealthy attendee, associated with Agyapong, gifted money to the Jama Group.
