Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced concerns over the excessive politicization of Ghana's public service, warning that it undermines the welfare of the Ghanaian people.
Speaking on the issue in an interview on Channel One TV's Face to Face on Tuesday April 29, Agyepong criticised the "winner takes all" mentality that has dominated the country's political landscape, emphasising that governance should focus on serving the nation rather than dividing resources among political parties.
Agyepong highlighted the detrimental effects of over-politicisation, stating that it hampers the efficiency and impartiality of public service institutions.
He called on political leaders and the media to address this issue and initiate discussions aimed at reforming the system.
