Director of Legal Affairs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, has clarified that President John Dramani Mahama has not made any determination or ruling regarding the potential removal of Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo.

This follows the Ghana Bar Association's (GBA) call on President Mahama to immediately revoke the suspension of Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo, describing the action as unconstitutional and a threat to judicial independence.

Responding to the call on Citi Eyewitness News on Tuesday April 29, Tamakloe emphasised that the President's role, as outlined in Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, is strictly limited to determining whether a prima facie case exists-not to adjudicate guilt or innocence. "Question, has the president adjudicated on anything?

No.
